ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Kayak

Kayak is a long, narrow boat that you can paddle on the water. It is very similar to a canoe but it is often smaller and lighter, and you usually sit inside the kayak with your feet out in front. Kayaks come in different shapes and sizes, but they all have a pointed front and back, which makes them easy to move through the water.

When you paddle a kayak, you use a special paddle that has a blade at both ends. You hold the paddle in both hands, and you dip one end of the paddle in the water and pull it towards you while pushing the other end away from you. This will cause the kayak to move forward, and you can steer by paddling more on one side than the other.

Kayaking can be a fun and exciting adventure, especially if you go on a river or on the sea. However, it is important to always wear a life jacket and to paddle safely. You should also learn about the rules of the water, like giving way to bigger boats, and avoiding shallow or dangerous areas. Kayaking is a great way to explore new places and get close to nature while enjoying a fun activity.
