Keir Hardie

Keir Hardie was a man who lived a long time ago in Scotland. He was very important because he helped form a group called the Labour Party, which wanted to make things better for workers who had to work hard jobs for long hours and not get paid a lot of money.

Keir Hardie used to work as a miner when he was a young boy, which means that he dug for coal deep underground. It was a very hard and dangerous job, and many people got hurt or sick because of it. Keir Hardie didn't like how unfairly workers were treated, so he decided to try and do something about it.

He became a leader for working people and started speaking up for their rights. He even became a member of the British Parliament, which is where important decisions about the whole country are made. Keir Hardie worked very hard to make sure everyone had the chance to be treated fairly and have a good life.

And that's why Keir Hardie is still remembered today as someone who stood up for what was right and fought for working people to have a better life.
