ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Keshet Rabbis

Keshet Rabbis are Jewish leaders who believe that everyone, no matter who they are or who they love, should be welcomed and loved in their community. They want to make sure that all people feel like they belong and are treated equally.

Imagine you are playing with your friends, but one of your friends wants to play a different game that you don't like. Instead of telling them they can't play with you anymore or making them feel bad, you could accept them for who they are and try to find a way to play together in a way that makes everyone happy. Keshet Rabbis try to do the same thing by making sure that everyone in their community feels accepted and loved, even if they are different in some way.

Sometimes people are not accepted because they are LGBTQ+, which means they are attracted to people of the same gender or may not identify as the gender they were assigned at birth. This can make them feel very sad and alone. But Keshet Rabbis want to change that and make sure that everyone feels like they have a home in their Jewish community.

In short, Keshet Rabbis are leaders who promote love, acceptance, and equality for all people, no matter who they are or how they identify.
