Khami

Khami is an ancient city that was built a long, long time ago in Africa. It was a very important place for the people who lived there because it was a center of trade and culture. The people who lived in Khami would trade things like gold, ivory, and salt with other cities and towns in the area.

Khami was also known for its amazing architecture, which means the way of building things. The people who lived in Khami built their homes and buildings out of stone and they were really clever! They used stones of all different sizes, and fitted them together so well that there was no need for cement or other materials to hold them together.

One of the most impressive things about Khami was the way they created complex systems of water management. They dug canals and channels that would transport water to where it was needed, and built terracing walls to protect their crops against floods.

But, sadly Khami was abandoned many years ago and now it is a desert like place where you can go and see what remains of this once magnificent city. People go to visit and learn about the history of Khami, how the people lived, what they believed, and what their traditions were.
