Khirbet Sir

Okay kiddo, so Khirbet Sir is a place in Jordan that was once a really old and important city. People used to live there a long, long time ago- even before our grandparents or great-grandparents were born!

But now, Khirbet Sir is considered a "ghost town" because nobody lives there anymore. It's just a bunch of old ruins that people can visit and explore. And when we say old, we mean really, really, r e a l l y old!

Some of the ruins date back to when Jesus was alive- can you believe that? That's over 2,000 years ago!

Archaeologists (that's a big word for people who study things that happened a long time ago) have found all kinds of interesting things in Khirbet Sir, like old pottery, coins, and even buildings that were used for important things like worship and trade.

Even though nobody lives there now, it's still really cool to visit Khirbet Sir and see all of the ancient history that's still there for us to learn about. Isn't that neat, kiddo?
