ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

KickSat

Kicksat is a small satellite that is part of a big group of tiny satellites called CubeSats. CubeSats are like little boxes that are sent into space to do different jobs, like take pictures of the Earth or study weather patterns.

Kicksat is special because it can help launch a lot of little satellites at one time, like a bunch of seeds being planted in a garden. It has lots of little parts that help it do this, like a motor that spins to create energy and tiny antennas that send and receive signals.

When Kicksat is in space, it will open up and let all the tiny satellites out. Each one of them will have their own job to do and will be able to communicate with Earth all by themselves.

Think of it like a party where one big cake is cut up into lots of little pieces. Each person gets their own tiny slice of cake, but they all came from the same big cake. Kicksat is the big cake that lets all the tiny CubeSats have their own slice of space to do their jobs.
