King-in-Parliament

A King (or Queen) in Parliament is a way of talking about how the government of the United Kingdom is organized. In the United Kingdom, the monarch (king or queen) is the head of the government, but they do not actually make the laws that govern the country. That job is done by Parliament, which is made up of elected officials. This means that the king or queen is responsible for representing the people of the United Kingdom to the government, but the government (Parliament) is in charge of deciding how the country is run.
