Kingdom of Powys
Okay kiddo, have you ever heard of a place called Wales? Well, a long, long time ago, there were different parts of Wales that were ruled by different groups of people. One of these groups was called the Kingdom of Powys.
Imagine you and your friends each have your own playgrounds that you rule over. Well, the Kingdom of Powys was kind of like that, but instead of playgrounds, they ruled over land where people actually lived.
The people who lived in Powys had their own leaders, who were called princes. But the most important prince was the one who ruled over the whole Kingdom of Powys.
The Kingdom of Powys was really big and it lasted for a really long time, but eventually, it stopped existing. Kind of like when you get too big for your playground and need to move on to bigger and better things.
