Knowledge discovery

Hi there! Today we are going to talk about something called "knowledge discovery," which is a fancy way to say "learning new things."

When we want to learn new things, we often start by asking questions. For example, if we want to learn about animals, we might ask "What animals live in the jungle?" or "How do birds fly?"

But sometimes, we don't even know what questions to ask. That's where knowledge discovery comes in. It's a way to explore data and find patterns and relationships that we might not have known existed before.

Imagine you have a bunch of puzzle pieces, but you don't know what the finished puzzle looks like. Knowledge discovery is like putting those puzzle pieces together and slowly figuring out what the picture is.

To do this, we use something called "data mining." This means that we take a lot of information and look for patterns within it. For example, if we had a list of all the animals in the world, we might look for patterns in their habitats, diets, or physical characteristics.

Once we find these patterns, we can make predictions or draw conclusions. For example, if we find that most jungle animals are nocturnal, we might predict that animals in other dense forests are also likely to be active at night.

Overall, knowledge discovery is a cool way to learn new things by exploring data and finding patterns we might not have seen before.
