Kochanski multiplication is a way to help us multiply two numbers. It's named after a Polish mathematician, Stefan Kochanski.
Let's say you want to multiply 8 and 3. First, draw 8 boxes in a row and then draw 3 lines underneath them (like a big plus sign). Now, write the 8 inside each box and the 3 below the boxes. Next, you will add up the numbers in each box one at a time. To do this, take the 8 and add it to itself 3 times (8 + 8 + 8). This will give you 24, so write 24 below the row of boxes. That's it, you have now multiplied 8 and 3! 8 x 3 = 24.
