Kondo effect

The Kondo effect is when a tiny bit of magnetic material, called a "magnetic impurity," is added to a material. This makes the material behave differently than it normally would. This effect is named after Japanese scientist, Professor Jun Kondo. It is an example of a quantum phenomenon, meaning it is something that can only be seen at very, very small scales.
