Konrad Lorenz was a scientist who studied animals. He noticed that many animals had ways of communicating and interacting with each other that were really interesting. He also noticed that some animals (especially birds) had a special bond with their mother. Konrad started to study how animals act and why they act like they do. He figured out that some behavior is 'inherited' which means it is passed down to the next generation. He wrote a lot of books and even won a Nobel Prize for his work. He showed us that animals can teach us a lot about ourselves and our own behavior.
