Kudurru

Have you ever heard of a kudurru before? It's like a special kind of rock that was really important a very long time ago in a place called Mesopotamia, which is now part of Iraq.

So, back in those days, when people made agreements or deals, sometimes they would make a kudurru as well. It was like a physical representation of the agreement. It was usually big and heavy and made of stone. And there would be pictures and writing on it that explained what the agreement was all about.

These kudurrus were pretty important because they were like legal documents. They helped people remember what had been agreed upon so that there wouldn't be any confusion or arguments later on. And it was like a big deal to mess with them because it was like messing with the law.

Nowadays, we don't really use kudurrus anymore because we have other ways of making agreements and keeping track of them. But back then, they were super important and helped people make fair deals and make sure everyone stuck to them.
