Kulhar

Okay kiddo, so you know how we drink hot chocolate or tea out of a cup, right? But have you ever heard of something called a kulhar? It's a special type of cup that people in India like to use when they drink chai, which is a very popular type of tea.

A kulhar is made out of clay, which is a type of dirt that we can shape and fire to make all kinds of things. Kulhars are handmade, which means that someone uses their hands and some special tools to make each one. They are shaped like a cup, but they don't have a handle like most cups do.

When someone drinks chai from a kulhar, it makes the tea taste really good. That's because clay is a natural material that can add some flavor and scent to the chai. Also, because kulhars are made from clay, they can hold heat for a long time, so the chai stays nice and warm.

After people are done drinking their chai from a kulhar, they don't throw it away like we usually do with cups. Instead, they can just leave it on the ground and it will break down over time, returning to the earth as dirt once again. So, kulhars are not only good for drinking chai, they're good for the environment too!

So there you have it, kiddo. A kulhar is a special cup made out of clay that people use to drink chai in India. It adds some extra flavor to the chai, and it's good for the environment because it can break down over time.
