Kuomintang

Kuomintang (KMT) is a political party in China. It was started in 1912 to bring together the different political groups in China and unite them under one government. The KMT wanted to gain independence from foreign powers and create a strong, unified China. The KMT also wanted to create a government that was based on justice and democracy. The KMT led China until 1949 when it was overthrown by the Chinese Communist Party. Today, the KMT still exists and its members are still fighting for a free and democratic China.
