LEED

LEED stands for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, and it is a type of certification (like a gold star or award) that is given to buildings or projects that are environmentally friendly. To get this certification, a building or project must meet certain criteria in areas like energy efficiency, water use and waste management. For example, if a building has solar panels on the roof, it would get points for using solar power to provide energy and helping reduce air pollution. Buildings or projects with higher levels of LEED certification (such as Gold or Platinum) must meet even stricter standards in these areas to be considered for the certification.
