ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

LGBT parenting

LGBT parenting means that some mommies and daddies might be two mommies or two daddies! Just like how some people have different skin colors, some people love differently too. And that's okay!

It means that a family can have two parents of the same gender - either two moms or two dads, and they will love and take care of their children in the same way as any other family.

Now, there are different ways a same-sex couple can have children. Sometimes, they might adopt a child, which means they'll become the child's forever mommy and daddy. Other times, they might use a sperm or an egg from a donor and have a baby through in vitro fertilization (IVF), which is like growing a baby outside of the mommy's tummy.

No matter how they have children, what's important is that they love and take care of them, just like any other family. And just like any other family, they want their children to grow up happy, healthy, and loved!
