Ladle (spoon)

Okay kiddo, do you remember when mommy or daddy uses a spoon to scoop up some soup or stew? Well, a ladle is basically a really big spoon that's used for the same thing, but it's much bigger!

A ladle usually has a long handle that you hold onto with your hand, and then there's a big scoop part at the end that you use to scoop up food. The scoop part is usually bowl-shaped and has a curved edge that makes it easier to get all the soup or stew out of the pot.

Ladles come in all different sizes, so if you just need a little bit of soup, you can use a small ladle, and if you need to serve a lot of people, you can use a bigger ladle. And you know what's really cool? Some ladles have a little spout on the side of the bowl, so you can pour the soup or stew without making a big mess!

So that's what a ladle is, a big spoon that you use to scoop up soup or stew. And it's super helpful when you're serving food to a lot of people!
