The Land of Onias was a very special place where people went to worship God. It was located in a country called Egypt, which was very far away from where some of the other worship places were.
A long time ago, the Jewish people were being treated very badly and they were not allowed to worship their God in their own land. So, a man named Onias decided to create a special place where Jewish people could go and worship God freely.
He found a good spot in Egypt and built a great big Temple there for all the Jewish people to come and worship. This Temple was very important because it was one of the only places for Jewish people to worship without being hurt or punished.
People would come from all over the world to visit this Temple and to be with other people who believed in the same things as them. They would pray and sing songs and feel happy, knowing that they were surrounded by people who loved God as much as they did.
So, even though it was far away, the Land of Onias became a very important place where people could practice their religion and feel safe. And that's why it was known as the Land of Onias.
