Land use, land-use change, and forestry

Land use, land-use change, and forestry (LULUCF) has to do with how people use the land and forests. People need to use land and forests for farming, building homes and businesses, and many other things. But they also need to be careful not to damage the trees and other plants in the forests, because they help make sure the environment is healthy. LULUCF is all about finding ways to use the land and the forests without causing damage. That includes things like turning abandoned farmland into parks and gardens, or planting more trees instead of cutting them down. It also includes taking steps to make sure that people use the land and forests but keep them safe at the same time.
