Laplace transform applied to differential equations

Laplace transforms are a way of solving difficult problems that involve calculus, like differential equations. In a laplace transform, the functions involved in the problem are converted into something called a 'Laplace Transform'. When this happens, the difficult problem can be solved easily by performing some calculations with the Laplace inverse transform. So, in the case of differential equations, the Laplace transform is used to change the equation into a simpler form which can then be solved.
