ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Laser safety

So imagine you have a really cool toy that shoots out a beam of light called a laser. It's fun to play with, but you need to be careful because lasers can be really powerful and sometimes dangerous.

To stay safe, you need to remember 3 important things:

1. Never look directly into the laser beam. It can hurt your eyes and even make you go blind. So only point the laser at things you want to shine it on, like the wall or the floor.

2. Don't shine the laser at people or animals. It can be really annoying or even scary, and you might accidentally hurt someone's eyes or skin.

3. Always use the laser in a safe place. If you're outside, make sure you're not pointing the laser at airplanes, cars, or other people's houses. Inside, don't point the laser at mirrors or other reflective surfaces, as the beam could bounce back and hit you in the eye.

Remembering these rules will help you have fun and stay safe with your laser toy. But if you ever have any questions or aren't sure, it's always best to ask an adult for help or guidance.
