Late Pleistocene

Okay kiddo, so a long, long time ago there was a big ice age known as the Pleistocene. During this time, there were a lot of different animals like woolly mammoths and sabre-toothed cats livin' around. But towards the end of the Pleistocene, things started to warm up a bit and the ice started to melt. This is known as the late Pleistocene period. During this time, some of the animals who liked the cold like the woolly mammoths started to go extinct 'cause it was gettin' too warm for them. But other animals like humans were able to adapt and survive to the changing climate. And that's the story of the late Pleistocene!
