Later Shu was a kingdom in ancient China that existed around 907-925 AD. Think of it like a pretend world where there were kings, queens, and rulers who had their own land and people to take care of. Later Shu was one of those pretend kingdoms.
Now, during that time, China was divided into many smaller kingdoms and Later Shu was one of them. It was ruled by a man named Meng Zhixiang who was like a king. He had a big castle where he lived and his people did things like farming and making stuff to sell.
Meng Zhixiang was a pretty good ruler. He had lots of soldiers to protect his kingdom and lots of people liked him. He also did a lot of good things for his people, like lowering taxes. But, he was also greedy and wanted more power.
Later Shu didn't last very long. It was eventually conquered by the bigger kingdom of Song and Meng Zhixiang was forced to give up his power. But, Later Shu is still remembered as an important part of ancient Chinese history.
