Law of the land

The law of the land refers to rules that everyone who lives in a certain place has to follow. It's kind of like a big game with lots of rules that everyone has to play by so that everyone can be safe and happy.

For example, imagine you and your friends are playing a game of tag. In order for everyone to have fun and not get hurt, there are rules you have to follow. You can't tackle someone to the ground or hit them with your hand. Those are the "laws" of the tag game.

Now, imagine you're all grown up and living in a town or a country. Just like with tag, there are rules that everyone has to follow so that everyone can be safe and happy. These rules are called "laws of the land." They're made by people who are in charge of the country or the town, and they decide what's allowed and what's not allowed.

For example, in some countries, it's against the law to steal things. That means you can't take something that doesn't belong to you, or you might get in trouble with the police. In other countries, it might be against the law to drive over a certain speed limit on the highway. You have to follow that rule, too, or you might get a ticket.

So basically, the law of the land is like a big game with lots of rules that everyone has to follow. It's important to follow the rules so that everyone can be safe, happy, and fair.
