Lazarus of Bethany was a person who lived a long time ago during the time of Jesus in a village called Bethany. He was a friend of Jesus and had two sisters named Mary and Martha.
One day, Lazarus became very sick and his sisters sent a message to Jesus asking for his help. But, for some reason, Jesus waited two whole days before he went to Bethany to see Lazarus.
By the time Jesus arrived, Lazarus had already died and his body was in a tomb. When Jesus saw how sad Mary and Martha were, he wept with them. Then, Jesus went to the tomb and asked the people to remove the large stone that blocked the entrance.
Jesus then called out to Lazarus and asked him to come out from the tomb. To everyone's amazement, Lazarus came out of the tomb alive! Jesus had raised him from the dead.
This miracle showed that Jesus had the power to bring people back to life and it also strengthened the faith of many people who witnessed it. Lazarus of Bethany became an important figure in the Christian religion and his story is still told today.
