Leading-order term

Leading-order terms are the most important terms in an equation. They usually appear first in equations. For example, if we had the equation: 2 + 10 + 5 = 17, then the leading-order term would be 2. That's the most important term because it has the biggest effect on the total. The other terms (10 and 5) are less important.
