ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Leaf whistle

Okay kiddo, have you ever played with leaves before? You know how they can make a rustling sound when you step on them or move them around? Well, have you ever tried making a whistle with a leaf? It's a really fun and easy way to make music with nature!

Here's how you do it: first, find a leaf that's still attached to a branch. Hold it by the stem so the leaf is facing you. Then, fold the leaf in half so the two sides touch each other. Make sure the stem is sticking out from one end of the folded leaf.

Now, put your lips against the stem and blow really gently, like you're blowing a bubble in your drink. You should hear a quiet whistle sound! If you want to make it louder, you can blow a little harder or adjust the way you're holding the leaf.

It might take some practice to get the hang of it, but once you do, you'll have a cool new toy to play with! Plus, it's always good to spend time outside and connect with nature. Have fun making leaf whistles!
