Lebensraum is a German word that means “living space”. During World War II, the German leader Adolf Hitler wanted to create more “living space” for German people. He thought that by expanding Germany’s borders to the east, Germany could gain more land and resources. This plan was known as Hitler’s idea of “Lebensraum” and was part of his plan to create a “master race” of Germans. During the war, Hitler and the German army invaded and took land from other countries, in order to create this living space. This was an awful plan and resulted in the death of millions of people.
