ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Legal case

A legal case is like a game with rules where two or more people have a disagreement and ask for help from someone who knows a lot about the rules, called a judge. The judge listens to each person's side of the story and looks at any evidence they have to try and figure out what happened and who is right.

The people who are in the legal case each have a lawyer who helps them understand the rules and give evidence to the judge. The judge makes a decision based on the rules and evidence, and the people in the legal case have to follow that decision.

Think of it like a referee in a soccer game who helps decide if a goal was scored or if someone broke a rule. The legal case is like a big, important game where the rules are really important and can affect people's lives.
