ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Legal philosophy

Legal philosophy is about thinking about and asking questions about what the law should be and how it should work. It's about looking at the big picture and thinking about why laws exist and how they can help people and make life fair. For example, legal philosophers might suggest that it's wrong for adults to discriminate against children, or that it's unfair for companies to pollute the air or water. By doing this, they help us think critically about the law and our society.
