ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Leipzig–Jakarta list

Okay kiddo, you know how sometimes we make lists of things we need to do, like a shopping list or a to-do list? Well, grown-ups also make lists of things they want to talk about with other grown-ups from different parts of the world.

The Leipzig-Jakarta List is one of those lists. It's called that because it's a list of topics that people from Leipzig, which is a city in Germany, and Jakarta, which is a city in Indonesia, want to talk about together.

These people are called scholars or experts, and they think it's important to talk to each other about things like culture, politics, and history. So they made the list to help them remember what they want to talk about.

The list has lots of different topics on it, like human rights, environmental issues, and economics. The experts use the list to have conversations and try to learn from each other. This is called "academic dialogue."

The Leipzig-Jakarta List is a way for people from different parts of the world to work together and understand each other better. It helps them learn about new ideas and perspectives, and that's a good thing!
