ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Lenticular printing

Lenticular printing is when a special type of picture is made that changes when you look at it from different angles.

Think of it like a flipbook - you know how when you flip the pages quickly, the pictures look like they’re moving? Lenticular printing is kind of like that!

To make a lenticular print, different images are printed on top of each other on a special plastic sheet with grooves on it. These grooves act like tiny mirrors, reflecting the different images depending on the angle you’re looking at them from.

So, if you’re looking straight at the lenticular print, you might see one image. But if you tilt it a little bit, a different image will appear!

It’s kind of like magic, but it’s really just the way the light is reflecting off the grooves in the plastic sheet. Pretty cool, huh?
