ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Lesbian pulp fiction

Lesbian pulp fiction are books that were written a long time ago (in the 1950s and 60s) that were about women who were in love with other women.

Back then, it was not acceptable for women to love other women openly, so these books were a way for some people to read about that kind of love.

The books were usually dramatic and sometimes sad, but people liked them because they were about things that were happening in real life, even if people couldn't talk about them out loud.

Today, it's much more accepted for people to love who they want, so these books might not seem as important as they were back then. But they are still a part of history and helped show that all different kinds of love are real and valid.
