Levelized energy cost (LEC) is a way to compare the cost of different sources of energy. It adds up all the costs of producing electricity (like building the power plant and buying fuel) and then divides that cost by the amount of electricity the power plant will produce over its lifetime. This gives you a LEC that shows how much 1 unit of electricity costs to produce. This makes it easier to compare different sources of energy, like solar and coal, because they both have their own cost.
