Do you remember when we learned about verbs? We said that verbs are action words that tell us what someone or something is doing. Well, a lexical verb is a specific type of verb that gives us even more information about the action being performed.
For example, if someone says "I ate dinner" - the word 'ate' is a lexical verb because it tells us exactly what the person did (ate) and gives us a lot of information about the action.
Lexical verbs are important because they help us create more detailed and descriptive sentences. And, there are many different types of lexical verbs that we use in our speech and writing.
So, whenever we want to use a verb that is very specific and detailed, we use a lexical verb. Now you know all about it, champ!
