ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Liber Censuum

Okay kiddo, listen up! So there was this big book a long time ago called "Liber Censuum," and it was like a list of all the things that the church owned.

You know how we have toys and clothes and books that belong to us? Well, the church had a lot of things that belonged to it, like land and buildings and money.

The book was made to keep track of all these things, so the people in charge of the church knew what they had and how they were using it. It was kind of like a big inventory list.

And because the book was so important, it was written in fancy letters and was really big and heavy. Imagine carrying around a giant dictionary!

So that's what the Liber Censuum was all about. It was a way to keep track of everything the church owned and make sure it was being used in the right way.
