ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Liberal government, 1905–1915

Once upon a time, a long, long time ago there was a place called 'Canada' and it had a government. This government was called a 'Liberal government'. Now, what does that mean? Well, it means that the people in charge thought that it is important to have laws that help everyone, not just a few rich people. These laws help make sure that people have what they need, like food, shelter, and education.

During the years 1905-1915, the Liberal government did a lot of things to help people living in Canada. They made laws to make sure that workers were safe while working in factories, and that children didn't have to work long hours but could go to school instead. They also built hospitals and made sure that people had access to healthcare.

The government also worked hard to be fair to everyone, no matter what their background was. They made laws so that people of different languages and religions could still take part in society without being discriminated against. They also worked on improving the lives of Indigenous people who had been treated badly before.

The Liberal government also helped to build Canada as we know it today. They built railways to connect different parts of the country, which made it easier for people to travel and for goods to be transported. They also made laws to encourage immigration so that Canada could grow and become a strong country.

In summary, the Liberal government in Canada from 1905-1915 was all about making sure everyone had what they needed to live a good life, being fair to everyone, and building a better country for everyone to live in.
