Libertarian perspectives on intellectual property

Libertarian perspectives on intellectual property (IP) mean that people believe that creators of something like a song, book or invention should be able to control when, how and if that thing is used or distributed. Libertarians think it’s unfair for other people to copy or use something without the owner's permission. According to libertarian views, creators should be able to benefit financially from the ownership of their IP. This way, creators are rewarded for their hard work, innovation and creativity.
