Lignin characterization

Lignin is a part of plants and trees that makes them strong and sturdy. It's kind of like the glue that holds the pieces of the plant together. Scientists want to study lignin so they can understand how to use it to make things like paper and fuel. In order to study lignin, they need to find out what it's made of and how it works. This is called characterization. Think of it like taking apart a toy to see how it works and what parts are inside. Scientists use special tools to study lignin and find out what it's made of. They might look at it under a microscope or use chemicals to break it down into smaller pieces that they can study. By doing this, they can learn more about lignin and how to use it to make useful things.
