Ligurian (Romance language)

Ligurian is a Romance language, which means it's a language related to Latin, the language of the ancient Romans. It is spoken mainly in the coastal area of northwest Italy, around the city of Genoa, in the region of Liguria. People in this region have been speaking Ligurian for a long time, so it has grown and changed over time, but it still has many features in common with other Romance languages. Ligurian may be different from the Italian language you know, but it is related, so you may be able to understand some words in both languages.
