Limelight

Limelight is like a really bright light that people use to shine on things like actors, dancers, or important people that are on a stage. It works by using a special kind of lightbulb called a "carbon arc lamp" that produces a very intense beam of light. The light is so bright that it can sometimes even make it difficult for the people it's shining on to see anything else! This is why people say someone is "in the limelight" when they're getting a lot of attention or being put on display for others to see. It's like when a grown-up takes lots of pictures of you when you're dressed up and says "you're in the limelight today!"
