ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Line bundle

A line bundle is like a fancy backpack that carries something called a line. A line is really just a bunch of points that go in a certain direction.

Think about when you draw a line on a piece of paper. You use a pen or pencil to make a mark that starts at one point and goes in a certain direction. That is what a line is.

Now, what if you wanted to take that line and put it on something else, like a surface or a shape? That is where the line bundle comes in. It’s like a backpack that carries the line so you can take it with you wherever you go.

The line bundle is made up of two parts: the base space and the fibers. The base space is like the ground or the floor and the fibers are like the things that stick up from the ground or the floor.

The fibers are what carry the line and they are different depending on where you are on the base space. If you move around the base space, the fibers change and the line changes too.

So, to sum it up, a line bundle is like a backpack that carries a line on a surface or shape and changes depending on where you move on that surface or shape.
