Linguistic intergroup bias

Linguistic intergroup bias is when people think more positively about groups that they belong to, and more negatively about other groups. For example, if you are part of the red team at a sports game, you might tend to say really nice things about the red team and not so nice things about the other teams. This is a type of bias because it is not an impartial way of judging – it is based more on your personal feelings towards that group in particular.
