ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Liquid diet

A liquid diet is when you eat and drink only things that are all liquid or close to it. So, instead of eating food that you chew, you drink things like smoothies, shakes, or soups that are blended up really well, and don't have any big pieces or chunks in them. Some people might have to follow a liquid diet if they have problems with swallowing, or if they are getting ready for a medical test or surgery. A liquid diet can be a good way to give your body the nutrients it needs without having to chew, but you have to be careful and make sure you're getting all the things your body needs, like protein, fiber, and vitamins.
