Liquid metal

Liquid metal is like the melted chocolate you get when you heat it up in a bowl. It gets very sloshy and sticky and you can pour it into different shapes when it's still warm. But liquid metal is not chocolate – it's made up of shiny, heavy metal stuff like Mercury or Gallium that are melted when they get really hot.

Just like solid metal, liquid metal can be used to make all kinds of things like jewelry, watches, or even parts for cars and planes. But because it's sloshy and can move around like a liquid, liquid metal can also be used in some really special ways!

For example, scientists use liquid metal to make special "fluid circuits" that can change their shape whenever they want. It's like if the water in your bathtub could climb out and go into a different bathtub if it wanted to. When liquid metal is put into a special shape or container, it can be manipulated by pushing or pulling it into different shapes and directions so that it can be used in really cool ways that regular metals just can't do!
