ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Liquid-state machine

A liquid-state machine is kind of like a computer, but it's made up of living things instead of wires and circuits. It's made of millions of tiny microscopic creatures called cell-like microbes that are held in a liquid. Scientists use liquid-state machines to control things around us, like robots and computers. Scientists program the microbes so that they can do different tasks, like solving problems and making decisions. They can then use this information to do things like drive a robot or help a computer program make decisions faster.
