ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Listing's law

Okay kiddo, so you know how your eyes can move around and look at different things, right? Well, there's something called Listing's Law that helps your eyes move smoothly and accurately.

Listing's Law is like a rulebook for how your eyes move. It says that when one of your eyes moves up or down, it also has to twist a little bit in the opposite direction. That way, your eyes always stay pointing in the same direction even as they move.

Think about it like this: imagine you have a toy car with a steering wheel. When you turn the steering wheel to the right, the car also moves to the right. Listing's Law is like a steering wheel for your eyes - when you look up or down, your eye twists a little bit to make sure you keep looking in the same direction.

Listing's Law is really important because if your eyes didn't move correctly, you might have trouble seeing things clearly or you might get dizzy. But thankfully, our eyes have this neat little rulebook to help them move smoothly and accurately!
