Lit à la Turque

A lit à la turque is a type of bed that is commonly found in some parts of Europe and the Middle East. It's also known as a "Turkish bed" or "divan bed."

Now, imagine a big, flat platform that is usually made of wood or metal. This platform is where you sleep on. It can either be raised a little bit off the ground or it can be right on the floor. Instead of using a mattress like we do in the Western world, you would use a lot of soft, fluffy pillows and layers of blankets to create a comfortable sleeping surface.

Some lit à la turque beds also have special built-in compartments underneath the platform for storing things like clothes or blankets to keep them clean and organized.

The lit à la turque is a very comfy and cozy bed that is still popular in some countries because it encourages relaxation and can make people feel more connected to their heritage and culture.
