Have you ever seen someone dressed up in really cool clothes, sometimes with lots of makeup, who stands completely still and doesn’t move at all? They’re called living statues!
See, when someone becomes a living statue, they’re pretending to be a statue come to life, just like toy soldiers or dolls – they’re just like YOU when you pretend to be a tree, or an animal or anything you can imagine! But these grown-ups are REALLY good at pretending – so good, in fact, that they can hold still for a really long time!
Usually, these living statues perform in public places, like in the middle of a park or a street fair. There, they might create a little “stage” for themselves with some props, like maybe a fake tree or some flowers, to make their statue-ness more believable. And when someone drops a coin or two in the jar, they might move just enough to show they appreciate it, like a nod or a wave.
And well, that’s pretty much it! Living statues are just grown-ups who love to dress up, pretend they’re a statue, and maybe make others smile or laugh along the way.
